How to Propose With an Adjustable Size Ring

An adjustable engagement ring can be resized quickly and effortlessly on the spot, but what do you need to think about when proposing with an adjustable size ring?

Familiarise yourself with the ring

The sterling silver band features a clever design that allows it to slide within itself at the base of the ring, making it easy to expand or contract for the perfect fit. You can adjust the size with gentle pressure using just your hands, you will be able to do it on the spot, but it's worth familiarising yourself with how much pressure is required so you can do this confidently in the moment - you will have a lot on your mind!

Prepare the size of the ring

You can easily adjust the size of the ring on the spot, but to make the proposal as slick as possible, it would be best if the ring is pre-adjusted to your 'best guess' of a sensible size. This will allow your soon-to-be fiancé to slip the ring onto their finger immediately.

We would recommend adjusting the ring to a size that's slightly larger than you expect, this means it's more likely to fit onto your partner's finger and can easily be tightened up for a more comfortable fit.

Consider your follow up plan

There are a few things your might want to talk about once you've both celebrated the immediate excitement of the proposal. â€‹ Firstly you'll want to think about adjusting the size of the ring so that it's a comfortable fit and explaining why you bought an adjustable ring - your partner will appreciate the thought and consideration that you wanted to ensure it was a good fit.

As a follow up, you might want to introduce the idea of shopping for an engagement ring together and exploring what your partner would like. A number of our customers have liked the style of the ring enough they found an exact replica in the correct size.
