  • Why buy a temporary engagement ring?
Temporary engagement rings have become increasingly popular for a few common reasons. Our most popular ring is adjustable in size, it's normal to not know your partner's ring size but also important that you don't give anything away trying to find out. The adjustable ring means it can immediately be a perfect fit and they can enjoy wearing it until you buy a forever ring together. Size isn't the only reason though, another common reason is style. There are so many important choices to make; some may be more obvious like gold or silver, while others are more detailed like diamond cut or setting style. • What materials are used in the rings?
Our temporary proposal rings are crafted from high-quality 925 sterling silver, ensuring no risk of discoloration on your partner's finger. Each ring features a moissanite stone equivalent to a 1-carat diamond. Moissanite closely resembles a diamond in appearance and hardness but offers even greater brilliance, making it a dazzling choice. Learn more about moissanite.
  • What is moissanite?
Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral composed of silicon carbide. It was first discovered in 1893 by Henri Moissan, a French scientist, in a meteorite impact crater. However, most moissanite used in jewellery is now created in laboratories due to its rarity in nature. It is known for its remarkable brilliance, fire, and hardness, making it a popular alternative to diamonds in jewellery, particularly in engagement rings. Moissanite's optical properties give it a radiant sparkle, and its hardness makes it durable for everyday wear. It is often chosen for its beauty and ethical considerations, as it is not sourced from conflict zones like some diamonds. Moissanite are a very hard and durable stone, just like diamonds. On a scale called the Mohs scale, moissanite gets a score of 9.25, while diamonds score a perfect 10. Despite moissanite not being quite as hard as a diamond, it shines more with colourful flashes, this happens because of something called the refractive index. Moissanite's refractive index is 2.65 to 2.69, which is higher than the 2.42 for diamonds. The refractive index is about how well a stone bends light. Moissanite's "fire" rating is 0.104, while diamonds have a lower rating of 0.044. This means moissanite creates more colourful flashes of light, making it look even more dazzling.
  • Do you use real diamonds in your rings?
We use moissanite gems instead of real diamonds to keep our rings affordable. Moissanite offers several benefits: it's cost-effective, highly durable, and has exceptional brilliance, making it a stunning alternative to diamonds. Additionally, moissanite is considered more ethical and eco-friendly, appealing to those mindful of the environmental and social impacts of the jewelry industry. Learn more about moissanite.
  • What is the size of the gemstone?
We offer a range of ring sizes from the equivalent of a 1ct diamond up to a 3ct diamond. A 1ct diamond has a diameter of approximately 6.5 millimeters, this is a popular size for a typical engagement ring, which usually fall between 0.5ct and 1.0ct. For reference, a lab-grown diamond of this size would cost around £400, while a natural diamond could start at £1,500, with prices varying based on cut, colour, and clarity.
  • How much would this ring cost with a real diamond the same size?
The vast majority of the cost is in the diamond, as a result lab-grown diamonds have become a popular alternative to natural diamonds. The price of a white gold ring in the same classic style as our ring, with a 1 carat natural diamond would likely start from around £2,000, if you were to opt for a lab grown diamond a complete ring would start from around £1,000.
  • How are you able to offer the ring at such a competitive price?
Most of the cost of an engagement ring is the diamond, we choose to use a moissanite gem as a diamond alternative in our rings as they are indistinguishable from a real diamond to the naked eye; they sparkle like a diamond and are similarly durable while being far more cost effective. This allows us to offer a quality product at a far more affordable price. Our rings are supplied in a slim ring box which means you have everything you need for your proposal when you purchase a ring from us.
